Chimneys and the lead around them are where a huge number of roof leaks begin. Old mortar cracks, flaunching crumbles, and thin or badly dressed lead lifts and splits. Because it’s high up and out of sight, it often gets ignored until it’s staining a bedroom ceiling.
We repoint and rebuild chimney stacks, renew flaunching, and dress fresh lead flashings and soakers by hand to a proper code and gauge. If a chimney’s no longer used, we can remove it and make the roof good instead.

Why does my chimney leak?
Usually cracked flaunching, failed pointing, or old lead flashing that's lifted or split. We'll pinpoint which it is and renew what's needed rather than guessing.
Should I repair or remove an unused chimney?
If you never use it and it's in poor shape, removing it and re-roofing over can be the cheaper long-term fix. If it's sound or you want to keep the character, we'll repair and cap it instead.
What lead do you use?
We use proper milled sheet lead (typically Code 4 and 5) dressed and fixed by hand to last — not the thin, quick alternatives that fail early.
